Absolutely in love with MATTE. I have been a little experimental with newer techniques and a new top coat this week. My luck with the nail tape hasn’t seemed to improve, so the design didn’t come out as clean as I would have liked.  BUT I am totally loving Esssie Matte top coat, which takes the shine away of the normal nail polishes and leaves a flat finish. It feels like an upgrade for all the colors, and gives them a new life, especially adding a pastel-ique look, perfect for spring. The following are the colors used for my nails:

Base: Zoya’s Rocky
Pink: OPI’s Casanova
Tan: OPI’s Going Nude, eh?
Navy Blue: Zoya’s Natty
Purple: Essie’s Plumberry
Top coat: Matte About You

Officially, it seems like the cold has passed in Chicago, and the weather has gotten cheerier (even though we are still drudging along under school-work).Which means, YES, the winter blues have finally ended :)! Although it is still  a little unsettling to see some people walking around under winter hats and heavy winter coats…humph. I have given winter stuff up, including boots! I am excited for spring dresses and flats…and more colors. I am looking for more nail-spirations to keep up.

I am just happy that the sun rises early enough for mornings to feel longer 🙂 And now, for an early bird, it feels like a gift, and that’s why they call it the present. (ALL the pun intended). There is a serene feeling about the light morning sun peeping and the smell of coffee permeating the air while skimming through class readings. As energy begins to wane in the last month of classes….the weather helps with the motivation level.

Summer bliss still feels far away though…as does life decisions. As the end of my program awaits, a new venture into the unknown begins.
